Some more rocks with history.
(Diana's, from Oxford... I was there, too. It was fabulous. And puts the history of the cabin rocks in a whole different light.)
I'm (mostly) done being philisophical now.

Funny that you mention rocks, because Jeff and I were just talking about this picture this weekend.
I got to thinking about how little we all are...that there are so many people doing so many things, both good and not s'good, and the path that we all take.
I took this picture on Christmas Day, 2005. There were daffodils blooming. Our tour guide walked us along this path in front of Christ Church College and asked us to think about all the people that had walked on those cobblestones...the only ones that have been there for more than five hundred years. According to Wikipedia: Oxford has had a role in educating four British, and at least eight foreign kings, 47 Nobel prize-winners, 3 Fields medallists, 25 British Prime Ministers, 28 foreign presidents and prime ministers, 7 saints, 86 archbishops, 18 cardinals, and 1 pope. 7 of the last 11 British Prime Ministers have been Oxford graduates.
Others that went to Oxford:
Stephen Hawking
Richard Dawkins
Sir Walter Raleigh
Lewis Carroll (there is a beautiful window with characters from Alice in Wonderland)
Oscar Wilde ("Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.")
W.H. Auden ("He was my north, my south, my east, my west/My working week and my Sunday rest/My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song/I thought love would last forever. I was wrong."
C.S. Lewis
J.R.R. Tolkien
John Locke
Adam Smith
Michael Palin
Christopher Wren
William Penn
Albert Einstein
Benazir Bhutto
Dr Seuss
Dudley Moore
Cardinal Wolsey
TS Eliot
Rowan Atkinson
AA Milne
Margaret Thatcher
Tony Blair
Indira Gandhi
Bill Clinton
I've walked in the same footsteps of great men and women. I've walked on history. I'd like to say I thought great thoughts on those cobblestones, but I mostly thought "Holy Shit! It's so cool that I'm doing this!"
My reach will not be as long as that of those people, but I need to remember that I, too, have walked on that path, and have a lot to give to the world in my own way. It's my responsibility and pleasure to make sure I leave a positive impact on the world.
Thank you, stones, for showing me your path. I'll continue to follow my own.
I love you, Diana, and I love Oscar Wilde's quote.
This is perfect and it was just what I needed to hear today.
Awesome.
